Validation is for parking tickets By Keith Castille

I’ve always been a fan of the Olympics. But I’m a weird Olympic watcher. Although I clap for winners and love great stories of triumphs, I look for the “learnersâ€. Some may call them the 4th place and on folks. Basically, they didn’t get a medal.

But think of this: You can train for years and come up short. Does being the #8 fastest person in the world makes you less than? Yes…it would have been great to be at the top of the world stage. It would have been awesome to get more fame and fortune for being the best in a competitive sport TODAY. But NOW is not your time.

Life has taught me that being the underdog has the ability to make you stronger and more resilient. It’s okay to be a late bloomer and fail 100x prior to achieving YOUR win.

Whether you are #8 or #127 and didn’t make the cut….Don’t freakin quit. Continue to clap for those that win. Even when your ego is struck by the current loss, love those who earned theirs.

As a lover of being an underdog, I offer you one final thought—Your day is coming. The race you’re running is against you, your mindset, and your perceptions of how YOU see the world around you. Remember—VALIDATION is for parking tickets.

Read that again!

Train on!
